Roberto Ayres, MD

Biography

Dr. Roberto A. Ayres is board certified in pediatrics with additional fellowship training in pediatric Pulmonology. Dr. Ayres specializes in treatment of the lungs and respiratory system, with special interest in Cystic Fibrosis.

Prior to his work at DHR Health, Dr. Ayres assisted in the addition of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Pulmonology Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in New York. Following his move in 2006 to the Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Ayres opened his own office where he practiced for 12 years.

In 2019, Dr. Ayres joined DHR Health Pediatric Pulmonology as Chief of Pediatrics.

Dr. Ayres completed his undergraduate study at La Salle Catholic School and attended medical school at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. Dr. Ayres completed his pediatric residency at State University of New York where he was designated Chief Resident. He continued on with a fellowship in pediatric Pulmonology at Columbia University.​
